Privacy Policy
Summary: Clip Trimmer is a local CLI tool. It processes your video files on your machine. By default, no data leaves your device and nothing is sent to LPagesAppLabs. The only optional external call is a transcription API you configure yourself.
01 Scope of This Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to the clip-trimmer.lpagesapplabs.com marketing website and the Clip Trimmer CLI application.
02 Marketing Website Data
The clip-trimmer.lpagesapplabs.com marketing website:
- Sets no cookies
- Runs no analytics scripts
- Stores no user data on our servers
The "Notify Me" form opens your email client locally — no server submission.
03 CLI Application: Data Processed
Clip Trimmer processes files entirely on your local machine:
- Input video files: Read from your local filesystem, processed in-memory, written back to your filesystem. Not transmitted anywhere.
- Transcription (Whisper): By default, Whisper runs locally on your machine with no network calls. If you configure an external transcription API (e.g. OpenAI Whisper API), audio data is sent to that provider under your account, governed by their privacy policy. This is explicitly configured by you using your own API key.
- Face detection (OpenCV): Runs entirely on-device. No images are transmitted.
- Output files: Written to your local filesystem as specified by you.
Clip Trimmer does not phone home, collect usage metrics, or transmit any data to LPagesAppLabs servers.
04 Third-Party Dependencies
Clip Trimmer uses open-source libraries (Whisper, OpenCV, FFmpeg, WebRTC VAD, pytest, ruff). Their use is governed by their respective open-source licenses. None of these libraries send data to LPagesAppLabs.
If you optionally configure an external API for transcription, your use of that API is subject to the privacy policy of that API provider. We recommend reviewing those policies before use.
05 Your Content
Your video files and their content are yours. Clip Trimmer does not claim any rights to content you process. We do not receive, store, or have access to your videos.
06 Your Rights (GDPR)
Given that Clip Trimmer does not collect personal data from you, there is very limited data for us to access, rectify, or delete. For any residual data (email correspondence), email contact@lpagesapplabs.com.
07 Changes to This Policy
If the tool adds network features in a future version, this policy will be updated before that version is released.
08 Children
Our products are intended for a general audience aged 13 and over. They are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (US — COPPA) or under 16 without consent where required (EU — GDPR Article 8). If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us at contact@lpagesapplabs.com and we will delete it.
